Preponderance of Evidence

Saiko Woods Goes Live with Marcus Rogers Accusers #MarcusRogers

In the legal system, there are many levels to the establishment of sufficient evidence and the burden of proof can vary in the type of case. In many cases, extenuating circumstances can be taken into consideration. The totality of circumstances, probable cause, reasonable doubt- all take into consideration that not every event has the same level of hard evidence. Depending on the type of case, different types of evidence are admissible and different levels of the burden of proof are required. and let’s be real, we are not talking about a real criminal case here, This is all being played out in the court of public opinion, where everyone has their own bias The principle of preponderance of the evidence is that the sum total of all circumstances points toward more than a 50% likelihood of being true.

With the current Marcus Rogers scandal, the opposition will try to assassinate the character of the women coming forward. There will likely be no satisfaction for some on either side, no matter what is presented. There will be text messages presented, which he will deny having sent. There will be sexual encounters described, he will deny. Any pictures will be called fake. So what is the point of trying to sort through this mess?

This article will present some surrounding circumstances that should be considered part of the bigger picture, the context of the situation. Perhaps one, or two, or all these women are lying or mistaken. But here is some background that might be helpful when you watch what unfolds. I encourage everyone to be objective and draw their own conclusions.

One more caveat, the goal here is to seek the truth. We aren’t interested in “bashing” anyone. this is not a criminal trial. But souls are at stake and we must give warning when there is a preponderance of evidence. Readers are free to draw their own conclusions but we urge all believers to do their due diligence before supporting, defending , and following those who claim to teach the Word of God. Surely God’s word will convict those who will ultimately become saved, but let us not use that as an excuse to allow any alleged abuse of God’s word or his people to thrive.

1) Marcus Rogers has been dealing with these kinds of allegations constantly for years. Not just occasional occurrences, but a constant stream of complaints. Receipts here

2) At any given time in the past seven years up through today, there have always been multiple fake profiles using his name or an alteration of his name and his pictures across all the major social media platforms. Receipts here

3) Marcus occasionally does social media posts where what appears to be happening is cashapp flipping. He asks for cash app ID’s in the comments in order to “bless” someone. Often a few days later, comments appear stating that “someone using your name contacted me saying they need me to send $20 to get my gift from you” This isn’t proof that he did it but he keeps posting these posts and putting his followers at risk for this kind of scam. He did a post like this on Facebook the week before Christmas this past year. Receipts here

4) Marcus has a history of marital infidelity Receipts here

5) Marcus refuses to get his social media accounts verified. He claims he wants to, but that all the platforms- Instagram, Facebook and Youtube, refuse to verify him because he is a Christian and they are demonic, evil etc so they “persecute” him. Having his accounts verified would eliminate a vast majority of the confusion and social media platform management could more easily delete fraud accounts Receipts here

6) Marcus is far from transparent with his finances. He started a Go Fund Me for his fellow soldier’s widow and when the Army said he couldn’t do that, he changed it to benefit for himself. He said he needed money for ministry. Three weeks later he had collected $31,000 and bought a Dodge Charger. Receipts here

7) Marcus told his followers that he was raising money to buy a building and that this building would need a little work- a few thousand dollars. Once he had the money in hand, he started showing everyone how much damage there was. It would clearly cost hundreds of thousands to repair, and there are zoning issues galore. Receipts here

8) Marcus claims to need lots of money for his building, how much is not known but upwards of $100k just to bring the building up to code. But this week while still asking for money for the building, he posted repeatedly about flying 7 or 8 of his friends out to Las Vegas for a 4 day “holy ghost party”revival, posting pics of them all eating out and playing laser tag. Receipts here

9) Marcus’ ex has made statements that he was unfaithful to her and she knew he was scamming women online. Receipts here

10) Last summer, Marcus posted 2 requests on Facebook to solicit donations to help a homeless family. Nothing further was heard from him about that. Weeks later, this blog got an email from that family. They never received a dime of that money. Receipts here

11) For years, Marcus stated he would not be interested in getting a 501c3 status, then he said he would, for the benefit of his donors. He had his IRS approval in October 2020, but to this day has never announced it to his followers. His website still says all deductions are not tax-deductible. He only accepts donations on his website through Paypal and cashapp, and apparently could be personal gifts not donations Receipts here

12) In March 2020, while claiming to need money for even small things like sound equipment, and then fundraising to buy a church building, Marcus bought a mansion in a wealthy suburb for $775000. He never said a word to his donors. It was discovered when his corporate address showed his new home address. When asked about it, Marcus has angrily snapped that he bought it with a VA loan. A VA loan provides mortgage insurance and a guaranteed rate. Receipts here

In light of all the above, we must consider the testimony of these women, who are no doubt imperfect. But they are putting themselves on the line because they know it’s the right thing to do. There may or may not be enough evidence based on their testimony alone, so in order to do due diligence, you must consider the preponderance of the evidence.

For more information on the above incidents, you can find more info in the articles on this blog. Most are found in the Financial issues post. There is a complete list of archived posts sorted by categories on this page

Brothers and sisters, let’s remember why we do this. Christ died to set us free and to draw His people to Himself by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. We must defend the faith he gave his life for.

UPDATE—- Guide to all the other receipts—

When considering the preponderance of evidence, there is also eyewitness testimony to consider. This article has those receipts.
