The Standard of Truth Podcast is a Christ-centered video podcast dedicated to providing commentary on theological, social, political, and culturally relevant topics from a biblical perspective. Its host, April Chapman, is a Christian wife, homeschooling Mom, and Entrepreneur. April is distinctively complementarian in her theology and is an active and viable member of her local church. On the Standard of Truth Podcast, the bible is THE final authority and she serves the truth straight with no chaser.

We use the standard of the true gospel of Christ crucified as our benchmark. We are saved by grace alone , through faith alone, in the finished work of Christ on the cross who atoned for our sins, according to Scripture alone which was decreed from eternity past for the glory of God alone. The Bible tells us everything we need to know regarding the most essential doctrines of our faith The Bible is the God-inspired and inerrant word of God. We believe in a Triune God and that the very nature of the gospel is inseparable from the unique attributes of the Trinity. We reject any form of works-based salvation and any extra-biblical, gnostic revelation that counters or supersedes the authority of Scripture. More Resources about the true Gospel HERE

Defining our terms- this is very important when discussing such a nuanced subject matter. Terms like "heretic" "false teacher" and "apostate" have subjective nuances and their precise connotations are subject to interpretation. Therefore to avoid confusion we will use the following definitions throughout this website:

False teacher- a teacher of the Word of God who does not rightly divide the Word and fails to provide sound exegetical context for secondary (non-salvific) points of doctrine or, if they are in error regarding the gospel but receives correction.

Apostate- a heretic who ignores all warnings and continues to teach false doctrines and a false gospel. They knowingly deceive and lead others away from the true gospel. They may still profess a Christian faith but they follow and teach a false god of their own invention. Apostates generally start out as false teachers, and become more heretical until their conscience and values are corrupted by other sinful motives.

We know these terms can be legitimately defined with different nuances and emphasis, but for the sake of clarity, this is where we will stand.
