Bringing Accountability Where None Exists

A “Crimeline”? Marcus Rogers Wants You to Buy Him a House!

"Transparent" is one of Marcus Rogers' favorite words. I think to him, it's magical. If you keep saying it, it must be true! Just how transparent has he really been though? His ministry posts no address, no financial info. He prefers donations to his cashapp, And there are some very legitimate questions about his spending. One year after his big church purchase, he has made very little progress on renovating his building, now he want to renovate a house too.

Marcus Rogers wants you to buy him a house now.

One year ago, he asked for a church. Let’s review that process. He told us that

  • August 4, 2021. He started with somewhere between $20k and $40K savings when he found his dream come true, an abandoned, run down and rezoned church in Chicago.
  • The church was listed for $650k -he tearfully pleaded for donations-for a school-for the kids
  • In 30 days he said he needed $70K more to make an offer He raised over $500k in 30 days during a recession, while it took 3 years to raise that initial $20-40k savings. Interesting.
  • Within a couple of weeks, he had made on offer of $550K cash and it was accepted
  • The building would need repairs, that might cost “a few thousand”
  • He would be using all “his” money to buy the place, there would be nothing left
  • After closing, he sprung the truth on his adoring fans- the place would need closer to $1M in repairs- plz donate- for the kids
  • He obtained permits for new doors and windows, and surface roofing. -he spent approx $60 k remodeling the original sanctuary and took care of the doors windows and roofing.

One year later, that’s about all he progress made.

Work on the church seems slow going, but in the past year, Marcus hasn’t had a problem finding other ways to spend money

  • another new rap album- lots and lots of studio time out of town
  • heavy promotion for the album including WorldStar hip hop promotion, expensive videos and photo shoots and a live tour.
  • a heavy travel schedule to events where he showcases his rap and sell his merchandise, and now he brings his whole “Brotherhood” entourage. Does he go to Fargo or St Louis or Tulsa? No They boys all prefer Florida, Texas and Vegas.
  • Cash giveaways just for coming to church!
  • Gifts for friends-a car even!

There is no school in sight, he rarely mentions it, but now he wants you to buy a house, he says, for a half-baked halfway house. Will he succeed? It seems to ring true that there’s a sucker born every minute, so we’ll find out. Donors might want to ask a few questions about the church first, Just saying

Part two is gonna be a doozy. Coming in August, another video is coming from a You Tube content creator who has followed Marcus and other false teachers. The truth is coming out and it’s not pretty.
