The Apostasy Files

A Brief Marcus Rogers Timeline

Marcus seems to be having memory loss problems. Or maybe he’s just reinventing his past. He’s been making some confusing, misleading and downright false statements about his past that are so easily verified that it’s the sheer boldness of the lies that could be the only reason his newer followers believe him. This week in a livestream with Ruslan KD, he said had been divorced twice, both times before he had repented of his backsliding ways, which would have been, when? 2011 when he said he repented after the scary club shooting? 2014 when he began posting videos? 2015 when he was on Facebook with public posts about a woman he was dating? In 2016 he flat out said he was divorced twice, but had reconciled with the second wife in 2016 only to divorce her (again?) in 2017. If you are confused, I think Marcus has accomplished his objective. Why does he keep repeating, at every opportunity, that he has been “doing this” (social media ministry) for 12 years? In 2011, 11 years ago by my count, he says he had his big breakthrough repentance after the club shooting, but he went through 2 divorces after that and posted some pretty explicit and worldly stuff for the next few years. This is a very brief timeline to put it all in order and perspective. Examine his statements against this. These dates and events are all very easily verifiable Exhibit 1 – Posted in early 2022
12 years in 2022
2010- He was in the club, and cheating on his wife. His ministry started in 2014

1986

Marcus was born in Weisbaden Germany

~1987

moved to the Virgin Islands

1995

After parents’ divorce, Marcus’ mother and siblings moved to Chicago. He has said several times that he was saved at age 9. His family attended Christ Temple Apostolic Church of God

1998

Age 12- Marcus often tells the story of wanting to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge but God told him not to

2004

Age 18- Enlisted in the Army, stationed at Ft Eustis While at Fort Eustis he attended Peninsula Pentecostal Church.  His first two weddings were held here and officiated by Pastor JR Arango

2006

Married his first wife, they had three kids before divorcing in 2011 Between 2005 and 2010, Marcus was deployed twice, once to Afghanistan, once to Iraq

2010

His earliest Facebook posts seem to indicate he wasn’t really that “backslidden”

2011

According to her sister, his first wife left Marcus due to adultery while pregnant with their third child. She moved to Chicago and had the baby there without him. He stayed in Virginia and filed for divorce, telling the court he had been abandoned and could not locate her. More info  here The Dramatic “Club Shooting” Marcus loves to tell the story about a big turning point in his life, an incident where he was shot at after leaving a club. He “made a deal” with God to turn back to Him. He says nothing about that here. Several weeks later he’s back into gospel music

2012

Was he still backslidden, or not?  Hard to tell. A rather explicit song Wow!

2013

Marcus married wife #2, who he had cheated on wife #1 with. They were married by the same pastor in Virginia that married him and and his first wife 7 years earlier. They have 2 children together. Let’s be clear on this- Marcus has said repeatedly that all through his Army days through 2013, he was backslidden, drinking, fornicating, cheating, brawling, making explicit rap music and more. He justifies his second divorce by saying, “we were not right with God, and our marriage was not ordained by Him,” therefore, he says often, they were justified to divorce when it didn’t “work out” (This video is one of many times he has said this) Somehow the big club incident in 2011 didn’t really have the effect he said it did, or did it? His stories just don’t match up. He posted this about his wife and posted some new gospel rap

2014

After 10 years in the Army Marcus was finally promoted to Staff Sergeant. He would only keep this rank for 2 years before getting court-martialed and demoted back to Sergeant. Then his career really went downhill. More info here. He started posting his Facebook videos. In the below video, posted in Feb 2022, Marcus makes it clear that his FIRST Facebook ministry video was posted 10 years ago. That video was posted on Facebook and Youtube in 2014 -8 years ago.

2015

Deployed to Korea, his marriage was already on the rocks. As his Facebook videos gain followers, he lists his status as “single” and posts about a new girlfriend. The logical conclusion would be that he was divorced, especially since he requested to be stationed in Ft Campbell KY when he returned, while his wife and kids were still living in Ft Eustis, Virginia. While at Fort Campbell, Rogers attended First Apostolic Church of Nashville, pastored by Dee Jay Shoulders. We’ve spoken with him and he says he would have never given a platform to Rogers because he was unlearned and unstable.

2016

In early 2016 he suddenly posted that “God told him” to reconcile with his (ex?) wife. He posted this pic that further suggested that they were getting re-married. In early July Cook County, IL court records show his wife filed for child support.  But he continued to post pics of his wife an family as if all was well. This document says that they have not previously filed for divorce.

2016

In early July, Marcus performed an unauthorized baptism on military property in an off limits area. This baptism was unnecessary since the man, Dhaifal Ali, had recently been baptized Marcus convinced him that his baptism had been done incorrectly and that he would do it “the right way” He took Ali and a friend with a camera to the flooded river, and sometime after the baptism, Ali drowned.  More info here. Mid-July -Marcus started a Go Fund Me stating it was for Ali’s family, then changed it to be for his own “ministry” expenses. At the end of July he bought a late model Dodge Charger with the money. More info here In July, 10 days after the drowning, he posted this, clearly stating he’s already been divorced twice. December- Court Martial #1. demoted a rank and sentenced to a week of hard labor.

2017

In August, Marcus announced that he is getting a divorce, because their marriage had irreconcilable spiritual differences and God told him to leave her and the kids to pursue his Facebook ministry. He also announced he was leaving the Army to be in the ministry full time, even though he still had over a year left on his contract. More info here What really happened- Marcus had been beating his wife, and a severe incident occurred where Ft Campbell authorities intervened. The wife was sent to an emergency shelter, and Marcus was given another court-martial and this time dishonorably discharged with an Article 15, 14-12c violation for the abuse, and for alleged online scamming on social media. Needless to say, abuse and adultery on his part during this marriage this is not a legitimate reason for divorce nor justification to remarry in Biblical Christianity. More info here  and here December – the divorce was final

2018

Marcus’ QMP out processing concluded in early April More info here mid- April, he posted a picture with Jazmin Troche who would soon become Mrs Rogers 3.0. More info here Marcus moved back to Chicago and began to solicit funds to start a church More info here While starting up the church, he attended two Oneness Pentecostal churches.  Lighthouse Church of All Nations, pastor Dan Willis.  Also the church attended by Matt Cruz and his realtor, Jerome Cheatham. The other  church is International Christian Fellowship, under the leadership of Bishop Ric Gonzales, who is not only a Oneness, he practices some very occultish spirituality.  Marcus claims Gonzales as “his bishop” who he is accountable to, though Gonzales has not been seen with Marcus in a couple of years and has never visited Firehouse. More info here He was ordained by Pastor Bennie Vance, founder of a non denominational Pentecostal church in Mississippi. More info here

2019

Marcus had a baby girl with an anonymous woman, he refuses to confirm or deny this. More Info Here here and here Married Jazmin in August Initiated court proceedings to gain custody of children from second marriage.
